How does the upfront pricing work?

When you select a vehicle type, the price that is displayed on the app at the beginning of the trip is the amount that will be charged for it.

Uber travel prices are calculated by adding:

- base price: the minimum price;
- time: from the beginning to the end of the trip;
- distance: miles or kilometers of the route;
- dynamic price (if applicable);
- tolls (if applicable).

The amount of time and distance varies based on the type of vehicle selected (UberX or Uber Black, for example), the city you are traveling in and will be calculated based on the start and end locations of the trip. Note that if demand is high and Dynamic Price is active, your price will already take this into account.
