Is the delivery insured? Who is responsible for damages or losses that may be caused?
The trip has the same insurance as an UberX trip for the Driver purposes.
Errand Drivers are experienced Partners in the Uber App, who have passed background reviews and security filters to ensure the Errands reach the recipient safely.
However, the delivery process can have several implications as well as the handling of the Errand and its content are not insured.
Important: in the event that the Errand gets lost during the delivery process, we cannot cover for the Errand shipped and you will need to contact the Driver for more information, taking into account the delivery service is provided by the Driver, not by Uber.
What happens if the Driver cannot execute the Errand because the store is closed or the item(s) is not available to buy in it?
If a Driver reports this issue, they communicate with you via message or phone through the Uber App, to report that he was not able to execute the Errand because the store was closed or it had supply issues. You should provide new instructions to the Driver.
Note: The rate of the trip will be charged to your account through the Uber App and calculated based on time and distance, so additional charges may be generated (for time, traffic, etc.); in these cases, if the payment does not cover the total of the final price, a pending amount that you will have to pay on your next trip could be generated.
How many stops can the Driver make during the trip?
The Driver can make up to 1 stop, which means stopping at point A to perform the Errand or stopping at point B to do it, or vice versa.
Note: Uber is not responsible about the conditions of the Errand or additional task in terms of collection, payment and delivery so this must be agreed directly between the Driver and you. Remember that you can communicate with each other via messages or calls within the app.
