Anticipated Delivery Time Feature FAQs

We’re currently experimenting with a new feature that allows delivery people to view when stores and couriers will likely anticipate orders to be picked up and delivered. Learn more about this new feature below:

What is this new feature?

Anticipated time visibility is a new feature that helps you better meet consumer expectations.

This feature allows you to see when stores and consumers are likely anticipating your arrival. As part of this feature, you’ll be provided with suggested times for each leg of your delivery. These suggested times can help you stay on track and make a timely delivery.

What happens if I don’t meet the anticipated time? How will this affect me?

These are only anticipated times. Not meeting these times does not affect your earnings or access to the platform.

How are anticipated times calculated?

Anticipated times allow couriers to understand when stores and consumers are likely anticipating their arrival. These anticipated times are informed by past trips and GPS estimates.

Is Uber starting to track how fast I get to places?

Your geolocation is one of several factors used to inform the anticipated times provided through this feature. Using these anticipated times as guidance can help ensure a positive consumer experience.

Do these anticipated times take into account store delays, traffic and other factors outside my control?

Anticipated times are informed by factors including GPS estimates and the duration of similar deliveries made in your city. They also take into account factors that may make completing a timely delivery more challenging, such as store delays and traffic congestion.

Do stores and consumers see the same anticipated times as me?

The anticipated times visible to you are based on those seen by stores and consumers.

By using these anticipated times as guidance during your delivery, you’ll help ensure that everyone has a positive experience.

What if the anticipated times seem inaccurate?

Anticipated times allow you to see when stores and consumers are likely anticipating your arrival. These anticipated times are informed by factors including GPS estimates and the duration of similar deliveries made in your city. They also take into account factors that can make completing a timely delivery more challenging, such as store delays and traffic congestion.

Using these anticipated times as guidance may help you ensure a positive consumer experience, and we will continue working to provide estimates that are as accurate as possible.
