QUESTION: WHAT IS DELIVERY SURGE?
Delivery Surge enables you to earn more for your deliveries during busy periods and in areas of high demand. During a Delivery Surge, your app home screen displays areas with high demand in shades of red, accompanied by an additive pound amount.
NOTE: Surge is only available in select cities while we evaluate the impact of this new feature before determining whether to roll this out across other cities in the UK. We'll keep you updated on changes.
QUESTION: HOW DOES DELIVERY SURGE WORK?
Delivery Surge is an additional amount that can be added to your net earnings for a delivery. Surge amounts are added to your delivery earnings after you finish the delivery.
You'll receive the highest Surge amount from either your current location or the restaurant location. For example, if the app shows a £2 Surge where you accept the delivery and a £1 Surge over the pickup location, you will receive the £2 Surge.
Here's another example, if your initial payout for a delivery is £5, and you received a request indicating a £2 Surge, your updated payout would be £7. It is important to note that the additive Surge amount you see in your app is exactly what will be added to your payout for the delivery once finished.
QUESTION: HOW CAN I CHECK IF I RECEIVED SURGE FOR MY DELIVERY?
When you receive a delivery request that is Surged, the app indicates the Surge amount on the accept screen. When you complete the delivery, you can also check the trip details on the fare breakdown in your app.
QUESTION: HOW IS SURGE DIFFERENT THAN BOOST OR QUEST?
Unlike Boost and Quest promotions, Surge is dependent on how busy restaurants are in real time. If there aren't enough Delivery Partners to help deliver food, Surge will start in real time and can increase with demand, allowing you to earn more for your effort when the need is higher.
QUESTION: WHY DOES SURGE LOOK DIFFERENT AT NIGHT?
The driver app has a night mode that dims all colors within the app, however Surge still works the same.
