Update your legal name
If you have not already uploaded your updated documents reflecting the proposed legal name change, please follow these steps:
- Open the Uber Driver App
- Tap on Menu
- Tap on Documents
- Upload a copy of your new, legally recognized document (such as a new driver’s license) that clearly displays the updated name, along with proof of legal name change (e.g. marriage certificate).
To update the name that riders will see in the app, follow the steps below.
- Open the Uber Driver App
- Tap on Menu
- Tap on Settings
- Tap on Manage Uber account
- Tap on personal info
- Tap on Name
- Make desired changes in the appropriate fields
- Tap on Update

Change your email address or phone number
Updating your contact details is quick and easy in the Driver app. Simply:
- Open the Driver app, and click the menu icon (three lines in the top left corner).
- Select Account.
- Choose Manage Uber account.
- Type in your new email address or phone number.
- Verify the change with a code sent to you, or enter your current password.
Verification code details
- For phone number updates: You’ll receive the code via text message.
- For email updates on iOS: The code will be sent to your new email. If you don’t see it, check your spam or junk folder and confirm your email address is spelled correctly. Can’t find the code? Hit I’m having trouble for more help.
Update your home address
Currently, you can’t change your home address in the app once it’s submitted. If your Uber Pro Card is being mailed to the wrong place, you can reach out to Branch via the Uber Pro Card app by:
- Going to the Account tab.
- Tapping Support in the top right corner.
If Branch is unable to update your address, you can request a new Uber Pro Card directly in the app.
