How do I buy gift cards for my business?

Gift cards can be purchased 2 ways through Uber for Business. Review the options below to understand which process is available for your organization.

Uber for Business dashboard (available to select organizations):

1. Sign in to your account on business.uber.com
2. Open the Gift cards tab
3. Select Create gift cards
4. Customize the specifics of the order, review, and pay
5. Once the order is complete, download codes from your dashboard

Only digital gift cards may be purchased using this method. Gift cards in USD are issued by The Bancorp Bank N.A.

Launch Gift Cards (LGC) platform (available to all organizations):

1. Complete the form on our website to let Uber know how many gift cards and what value you’re looking for
2. One of our team members will reach out with the best options for you

Digital or physical gift cards (if located in the US) may be purchased using this method.

Can I buy physical gift cards?

Physical gift cards are available for purchase only in the US through the LGC platform. Digital gift cards can be purchased through your organization’s Uber for Business dashboard or through the LGC platform.

How quickly will I receive my gift cards?

Uber for Business dashboard purchases:

• Your gift cards should be available for download within 24 hours
• Check your dashboard to see your completed order and download your gift card codes
• You’ll also receive an email confirmation when the codes are ready to download

Gift cards in USD are issued by The Bancorp Bank N.A.

LGC platform purchases:

• Your gift card purchases should be available within 1-5 business days depending on your payment method
• You should receive an email with the codes attached to download
• Communications should come from the LGC platform directly

How do I distribute the gift cards?

Digital gift card codes can be shared directly with recipients via your preferred contact method. Gift card communications or marketing materials should follow the provided Uber Gift Card Brand Guidelines.

If you purchased digital gift cards through LGC, LGC can directly email gift cards to recipients. You’ll need to provide recipient email addresses with your order. For questions related to gift card purchases made through the LGC platform, please contact LGC directly at u4b@launchgiftcards.com.

Will I get a receipt?

• Uber for Business dashboard purchases: Gift card purchases will be reflected in your monthly Uber for Business statements. Statements are generated at the end of each month.
• LGC platform purchases: Receipts are provided per gift card order if paid for by ACH or bank transfer. If you purchased gift cards by card, your sales rep can provide you with a receipt.

Why did my gift card purchase fail?

• Uber for Business dashboard purchases: The most common reason is that the purchase is being declined by your bank. Please contact your bank and/or credit card company to authorize the transaction. Other common reasons include blocking suspicious activity for admin protection or your account has an outstanding balance. Please contact Support for help.
• LGC platform purchases: Please contact LGC directly.

Do gift cards expire?

Gift cards expire based on the purchasing organization’s country, subject to change to comply with applicable law. See the list below for expiration timelines:

• 3 years after activation: Australia, Brazil, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa
• 1 year after activation: Belgium, France, India, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, South Africa
• Lifetime validity: Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, United States

I need a refund for gift card purchases

Unless required by law, gift cards can’t be redeemed for cash, refunded, or returned. For gift cards purchased through the dashboard, please refer to your Uber for Business agreement and gift card product addendum for more details. For gift cards purchased through the LGC platform, please refer to LGC’s terms for more details.

How is a gift card different from a voucher?

Gift cards offer flexible spending on rides or meals for recipients. Recipients have the freedom to use the provided gift card value however they wish on Uber.

With vouchers, you can distribute Uber credits while controlling how they can be used. You can select expiration dates, location restrictions, and date/time restrictions. Vouchers also allow you to only pay for the amount used. You can purchase vouchers directly from your Uber for Business dashboard.
