Reservations, or Uber Reserve, is an option that lets you request rides at least 30 minutes in advance. Reservations can be created in many areas, and the option is expanding to new cities.

Creating a reservation

To request a reservation, open your app and follow these steps:

1. Select the Reserve icon on the app’s home screen
2. Enter your pickup and dropoff location, then select your pickup time
3. Select Confirm
4. Choose your vehicle option on the product selector screen, then select Reserve
5. Once you confirm those details, select the Reserve icon on the home screen then see the Upcoming trips section to view or update your reservation

Reservations cost

When you request an Uber Reserve trip, the trip price you see will be an estimate that includes a reservation fee, which may vary depending on the pickup location and the day and time of your trip. This fee is paid by riders for their driver’s additional wait time and time/distance spent traveling to the pickup location.

Updating or canceling a reservation

Select the Reserve icon on the home screen, then use the Upcoming trips section to cancel, update, or review your upcoming reservations at any time.

You can cancel a reservation at no charge up to an hour before the start of the ride.

If you cancel less than 60 minutes before the scheduled start time and the reservation has already been accepted by a driver, you’ll be charged a cancellation fee.

A reservation can be canceled at no charge if the driver is expected to be more than 10 minutes late once they start heading toward the pickup location.

You can find the cancellation fee amount that applies to your trip by selecting See terms from the in-app time selection screen that appears when you reserve a ride, and scrolling down to your preferred product type.

Reserve airport pickups

Reserve airport pickups let you plan your pickup from the airport in advance. You can focus on making your way through the airport, and your driver will be waiting once you select Pick me up.

To request a reserved airport pickup:

1. Select the Reserve icon in your Uber app
2. Enter your pickup airport in the pickup location field
3. Enter your destination in the Where to? field
4. Select your pickup date
5. Enter your flight number
6. Select a vehicle option, then select Reserve UberX

If reserving an airport pickup isn’t available in your area, the app will notify you to request an on-demand trip after your flight.

The driver gets notifications through the app if your flight is delayed, will land early, and once you land. Wait time is included once your flight lands, allowing time to retrieve luggage if needed. Your driver will be waiting at the airport, but won’t proceed to the curb until you notify them in the app that you’re ready. Standard Uber Reserve cancellation fees will apply.

Upfront driver matching

When possible, a driver will accept your request before the pickup time rather than shortly before the ride. You’ll be notified when a driver accepts your trip request in advance.

Estimated pickup and dropoff times

Reservations automatically determine the right pickup or dropoff time for the trip based on your chosen departure or arrival time.

Arrive early and wait

Drivers will arrive a few minutes early for your pickup, and they’ll wait:

• Up to 5 minutes after the scheduled pickup for UberX, Uber XL, and Comfort trips
• Up to 15 minutes for Black, Black SUV, and premier trips

All reservations will have an upfront price, which includes a reservation fee.
