What is Uber Rent with Valet

Uber Rent with Valet is a new offering that allows users to choose a rental vehicle, complete rental paperwork in-app, and have the vehicle delivered to and picked up from a location of their choice within a select area .

Uber Rent with Valet is available in the following areas:

  • Northwest Washington, DC
  • Part of Arlington, Virginia
  • Miami
  • New York City

Currently, Uber Rent with Valet is only available to customers 25 years and older with a valid US driver’s license.

To book:

  1. Select “Rent” on the app homepage
  2. Select the dates for your rental and tap “Find cars”
  3. On the “Valet service” section, select a vehicle
  4. Complete the rental booking process by uploading your driver’s license and payment method, reviewing rental car damage protection options, and agreeing to the rental company’s terms and conditions

NOTE: Uber collects driver’s license information for purposes of verifying the renter has a valid license and is eligible to rent from our partner. The person who makes the rental booking must be present with a valid driver’s license at the time of delivery, or the driver will not be able to complete the delivery.

How Does it Work?

While choosing your rental vehicle in the app, any vehicles that say “Valet service included” can be reserved with the Valet service and can be delivered and collected by a Valet driver.

NOTE: Currently, only Avis rental cars have the Valet feature.

Before the Delivery FAQs

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes, you can cancel your booking for free up to 6 hours before the delivery. After that period, you can still cancel your booking, but you may be subject to a cancellation fee.

Can I change the delivery time?

No, you need to cancel your current booking before the cancellation deadline listed in the app and make a new reservation.

Can I Book Different Delivery and Collection Locations?

Yes, you can have different delivery and collection locations, as long as both addresses are inside the Valet service area.

Can I Include an Additional Driver?

Avis allows spouses and co-workers to drive the rental. For more information, please review your Avis Rental Agreement.

Are Add-Ons, Like a Child-Seat, Allowed?

Unfortunately, at this time additional add-ons including, child toddler seat, booster seat, infant child seat, GPS, XM Radio unit are not available to be reserved on Uber Rent.

Can I Book a Trip with a Foreign/International Driver’s License

No, the rental must be booked with a valid US driver’s license.

What is the Mileage Limit?

There is no mileage limit.

The Delivery

After choosing your rental vehicle, paying the $300 deposit, and completing the rental booking process you will receive a booking confirmation. In the app, under “Rent,” you’ll be able to view information about your rental, and you’ll be notified when a Valet driver has accepted your Valet delivery trip.

Next, you’ll be notified in-app when the Valet driver picks up your rental vehicle and begins the delivery trip. While the Valet driver is on the way to your location, you’ll be able to track their progress in the app, much like you would for an UberX trip or order with Uber Eats.

Once the Valet driver has started the trip, you’ll be able to communicate in-app. When they arrive, you will be prompted to show your driver’s license, they will take some photos to document the condition of the vehicle, and then they will give you the keys to the rental vehicle.

Why do I Need to Upload my Driver’s License and Selfie?

In order for a driver to deliver your vehicle, Avis requires verification that your driver’s license is valid and that you are the owner of the license.

As additional protection, we also use your selfie to ensure the driver provides the vehicle to you.

Can I Extend My Rental?

Yes, you can extend your rental. Please reach out to Avis (1-800-230-4898).

Can I Get Roadside Assistance?

Yes, just call Avis (888-263-1540)

I Got in an Accident. What Can I Do?

Contact the police (911). After that, if it’s possible, call Avis (800-354-2847).

The Collection

When your rental period comes to an end, a Valet driver will come to the location you selected when you booked your rental, pick up the rental vehicle, and return it to the rental lot on your behalf.

What if I Can’t Meet with my Driver to Return to My Vehicle?

If you are not able to meet with the driver at the scheduled collection time, you can return the vehicle directly to Avis. The addresses are:

DC:

Will I Get a Refund if I Pick Up or Return the Rental Vehicle Myself?

No, you will not be eligible for a refund. Please be sure to check ‘Important information for this Rental’ on the checkout screen for rental specific information.

Can I Reserve Just a “Delivery” Trip or Just a “Collection” Trip?

Currently, Uber Rent with Valet is only available with both a delivery and a collection trip, and reserving only one (delivery or collection) is not an option.

Do I have to Refuel the Vehicle Myself?

Yes, you are required to refuel the rental vehicle before it is collected by the Valet driver and returned to the rental lot.
