Proposition 22 also provides you with important insurance coverage and other protections.

Injury Protection Insurance

You are automatically covered by an occupational accident insurance policy at no cost to you. This insurance provides benefits if you are injured in an accident while online with Uber.

Coverage includes:

• Medical Expenses: Covers costs for medical treatment resulting from a covered accident.
• Disability Payments: Provides payments to replace lost income if you are unable to work due to a covered injury.
• Survivor Benefits: Provides benefits to your family in the case of a covered fatal accident.

To file a claim, you can report the incident through the Help section of the Driver app.

Required Safety Training

As part of Proposition 22, all drivers and delivery people in California are required to complete safety training modules. These trainings cover important topics like road safety, preventing sexual harassment, and food safety for deliveries.

You will be prompted to complete these trainings in the app and must do so to continue accessing the platform.

Deactivation Appeals

Under Proposition 22, drivers and delivery people in California have access to an appeals process for certain types of deactivations, such as those related to safety or quality issues. If your account is deactivated for an eligible reason, you will receive information on how to submit an appeal.
