Rental requirements
To qualify for the Vehicle Marketplace program, you must have passed the background check.
Additional requirements such as minimum age and completed trips are set by the vehicle lender. You can find available lenders by visiting t.uber.com/vs-marketplace or navigating to the View Rental Options section in the app to see options, locations, and requirements.
Rental locations and options
You can rent vehicles for rides and deliveries in numerous cities across the US and Canada. The specific vehicles available vary by city. Check the Vehicle Marketplace to see what rental options are available in your city.
Uber’s rental policy
- Rent from approved partners: We recommend using only rental vehicles from Uber’s approved rental company partners, available in the Vehicle Marketplace. Cars from Uber’s approved partners are ready to go and approved for use on the Uber platform. After meeting all other requirements to drive with Uber, these vehicles are automatically added to your Uber driver profile, so you can go online right away and start earning.
- Unapproved rental cars: Using vehicles not rented through one of Uber’s approved rental car partners can result in delays getting the vehicle added to your profile. Personal vehicle rentals outside the Vehicles Marketplace will require additional steps and manual upload of documentation, including but not limited to: proof of registration, proof of insurance coverage (and approved for rideshare use), and an Uber vehicle decal (where required). Uber cannot guarantee that vehicles rented outside the Vehicles Marketplace will be eligible for use on the Uber platform.
- Picking up your vehicle: After you make your reservation, we’ll email you a voucher. Use the voucher to pick up the vehicle. For more details, check rental vehicle information or speak with a vehicle advisor at 1 (866)-987-3743.
Credit check
No credit check is required for most offers. However, a soft credit check may occur if you use a debit card for your payment method.
