A 1099-NEC is an official IRS tax document providing a summary of promotion, referral, and other miscellaneous earnings for the year.
Starting in 2021, you may receive a 1099-NEC. This document is now being used to report the tax information that was previously reported on the 1099-MISC.
Most earners won't receive a 1099-MISC for 2020. Only qualified earners who received more than $600 or more of these types of earnings will receive a 1099-NEC.
If you received a 1099-MISC in the past, you should still be able to access it on drivers.uber.com. You'll also see your new tax documents by January 31, 2021.
