We are launching Black Cab with Uber in early 2024. Users can book London Black Cab service directly through the Uber app. You will see the Black Cab as an option when requesting a trip and will be able to pay as normal through your Uber app.
How much will Black Cab with Uber cost?
The cost of your Black Cab trip will depend on several factors. Trips are calculated by the taxi meter, according to TfL’s approved fares structure, plus any additional charges, such as booking fee, airport tolls, etc.

For launch in early 2024, Black Cab with Uber will be available in London only.
Will Black Cabs be available 24/7?
Yes. If there is a Black Cab available at the time of your trip booking, you will see the option in your Uber app. Outside of that, Black Cab on Uber is subject to availability.
What will the payment options be?
Similar to other Uber products, you will be able to use your credit card to pay for Black Cab trips. You can also choose to tip your driver either in app, or by handing them cash at the end of your trip.
How many riders can ride together on a Black Cab trip?
A standard Black cab can carry five passengers. You will see the number of passenger options at the point of requesting your trip.
Can I request a wheelchair-accessible taxi near me?
From launch, all taxis available on Uber will be wheelchair accessible via the Black Cab product. In the meantime, we recommend considering a trip with Uber Access, our forward-facing wheelchair-accessible option.
What do I do if I forget an item in the vehicle I booked with Uber in London?
You can use the Uber app to contact the driver regarding the lost item. To get started, visit the Uber app and go to the Account section. Tap on Trips, then select the trip on which you forgot the item. Next, tap Find Lost Item and follow the in-app instructions. Alternatively, you can reach out via the Help Centre.
Can I change my destination after booking a trip with Uber in London?
Yes, you can change your destination after booking your trip with Uber in London. You can also change your destination while you are travelling. As fares are calculated at the taxi meter, you will see the final price for your trip upon reaching your final destination.
Why can’t I see the Black Cab option in my app?
For now, the Black cab feature is only available in London. Also, Black Cab requests are subject to availability and will only appear in-app if there is a nearby cab available to accept your trip request.
