What is Uber Lite?
Uber Lite is a data conscious version of the original Uber app that works smoothly in challenging environments where poor network connections dominate. It also consumes less space on your devices where storage space is a premium. The app is designed to work well with all android phones.
What are the advantages of Uber Lite?
Using the Uber Lite app has many advantages. It consumes lesser data than the original app and works seamlessly with older devices as well. The app occupies much lesser space on your device which leaves you with more space for other content on your phone.
Can I get access to the app?
We're launching the app in phases and you should be able to get this soon.
Is there an iPhone version?
Currently, Uberlite is available on Android only, and at present, there are no plans for an iOS version. If you use an iPhone, you can use m.uber.com in low network situations.
Does Uberlite have all the features of the regular Uber app?
Uberlite is built with data usage and speed in mind and thus doesn't currently have all the features of the full-featured Uber app. Uberlite is cash only, and you will not be able to request an Uber Pool through the app. We are working to build these features into the Lite app and they should be available shortly.
Is there a difference in pricing between the apps?
There is no difference in pricing at all between apps.
