Megabus Travel Policies

Changes

You can make changes to your ticket more than 24 hours before your trip, but only through the Megabus website.

Cancellations

Unfortunately cancellations are not possible with Megabus.

Name Changes

Tickets are non-transferable, meaning they cannot be used by anyone other than the named passenger. The passenger listed on the ticket must travel with a valid ID.

Travel Classes

Megabus offers one standard class for all passengers. Every seat includes charging points and WiFi.

Travel disruptions

If your coach hasn’t arrived, check the coach tracker first to see its current location. In the event of a delay or cancellation, please contact Megabus directly through their contact page to inquire about potential compensation.

Age of passengers

Ticket prices are the same for all passengers, regardless of age.

Seat Reservations:

Seats are not assigned in advance on Megabus. Passengers can choose their seats on a first-come, first-served basis when boarding.

Tickets: Printing & Check in

You can use your Megabus ticket on a mobile device, so there’s no need to print it unless specifically stated in your confirmation email. If you prefer, you may print your ticket before arriving at the bus stop.

Luggage

You are generally allowed to bring two or three bags, with a combined weight of up to 20kg and a maximum size of 200cm (total of width, height, and depth). Additionally, one piece of hand luggage is permitted on board, as long as it fits comfortably under the seat in front of you.

Can I travel with my pet?

Pets are not allowed on Megabus services.

Can I travel with my bike?

You can travel with a folded or disassembled bike, provided it meets the luggage size and weight requirements mentioned above. It will count toward your total luggage allowance and must be stored in the hold.

Accessibility and assistance

If you need additional assistance, it’s recommended that you contact Megabus at least 36 hours before your trip to arrange any necessary accommodations.

Discount cards

Currently, Megabus discount cards are not supported by Uber.
