What documents do I need to rent a car?

You will need to upload into the app the following:

  • A valid US driver’s license in your name
  • A credit card in your name for payment and security deposit

What’s the minimum age to rent a car?

The minimum age to rent a car with Uber Rent with Valet is 25 years old. Check the specific age requirements when making your reservation.

What happens if I need to modify my credit card after making a reservation?

To modify your credit card information after booking, please call Avis at callto:800-722-5909. Indicate that you wish to replace the payment method on your Avis Preferred account and provide them with your Uber Valet Reservation number.

Why do I need to provide a security deposit when renting a car?

The security deposit is a standard practice in the car rental industry to protect both the rental company and the renter. It serves as a form of insurance in case of any unforeseen incidents during the rental period, such as damage to the vehicle or violations of rental terms. The deposit helps cover potential repair costs, fuel charges, or unpaid fines. The exact amount of the security deposit can vary depending on the rental company and the type of vehicle you choose, but it is usually around USD 1,000. Please be aware that rental companies typically accept physical credit or debit cards for the deposit, and some may only accept Visa or Mastercard. It’s essential to review the terms and conditions before booking to ensure you have the appropriate payment method. Rest assured, the deposit is refundable, provided there are no issues at the end of your rental agreement.

Can I add an additional driver to the rental agreement?

You won’t be able to add additional drivers through the app, however you may do so through Avis by visiting their location in person.There may be an extra fee involved, and the additional driver must meet the rental company’s age and licensing requirements. Be sure to inform the rental company when picking up the vehicle.

Is there a mileage limit on rental cars?

Most rental agreements come with unlimited mileage, meaning you can drive as far as you want without incurring extra charges. However, it’s essential to verify this with your specific rental agreement.

What is the process for extending my rental period if I need the car for longer than initially planned?

If you need to extend your rental period, contact the rental company’s customer support or visit their nearest rental location as early as possible. Extensions are subject to availability, and additional charges will apply for the extra days. It’s best to request an extension before the original return time to avoid late fees.If you wish to keep the Valet service please ensure to make the change up to 2.5 hours ahead of the original select time.

My Valet service got canceled. What should I do?

We are sorry that your Valet service got canceled. For deliveries, you may head to the Avis location indicated in the app and retrieve the vehicle. For returns you may take your vehicle to your nearest Avis location.

In what cities is the Valet Service available?

Can I Book Different Delivery and Collection Locations?

Yes, you can have different delivery and collection locations as long as both addresses are inside the Valet service area.

Are add-ons, like a child-seat, allowed?

Unfortunately, at this time additional add-ons including, child toddler seat, booster seat, infant child seat, GPS, XM radio unit, etc are not available to be reserved on Uber Rent with Valet.

Can I Book a Trip with a Foreign/International Drivers License?

No, the rental must be booked with a valid US driver’s license.

I can’t meet with my driver to return the vehicle, what should I do?

Please cancel the Valet service in your Uber app 2 hours in advance to avoid any additional fees. You can return the vehicle directly to Avis.

Will I get a refund if I pick up or return the rental vehicle myself?

No, you will not be eligible to get a refund. Please be sure to check important information for this rental on the checkout screen for rental specific information.

Do I have to refuel the vehicle myself?

Yes, you are required to refuel the rental vehicle before it is collected by the Valet driver to avoid additional fees.
