If you experience any issues with receiving a gift order through Uber Eats, here are answers to some common questions
How do I get my gift?
You will receive a text message from Uber with a link. Tap this link to open a special “unwrapping” experience, see your personalized message, and start the scheduling process.
How do I schedule my delivery?
After opening the gift link, you will see a “Schedule delivery” button. Tapping this will take you to a “Choose delivery time” screen where you can:
How long do I have to schedule my delivery?
You must schedule your delivery within 6 days of receiving the notification. The scheduling screen will also show you the exact deadline (e.g., “Schedule by May 5”).
Do I have to pay for the delivery or tip?
No. The sender has already paid for the order.
Can I change my delivery address or the delivery time after I’ve already scheduled it?
Yes, you may be able to change your delivery address and time as long as the merchant has not started fulfilling the order. Once the merchant begins preparing the order, changes are no longer possible. To check if you can make a change, please navigate to your order page in the app.
Can I make any changes to the order such as adding or removing items?
No. The items in the gift order are final and cannot be edited. You will not be able to add or remove any items, or select alternative options in the event that an item(s) is out of stock.If you would like to request changes to the order, please contact the Sender of your gift.
Can I see the price of the items?
No. The prices of the items are not shown to you at any point in the process.
Can I cancel the gift order?
No. Recipients cannot cancel a gift order. If you do not want the gift, you can choose not to redeem it. The gift link will expire after 6 days.
What should I do if my gift includes alcohol?
You must have a valid form of identification that confirms you are of age to receive the delivery. If you are unable to do so at the time of the delivery, the entire order will have to be returned to the store. The sender of the gift may be charged.
I have an issue with the order that I received (i.e., order is wrong, damage, and/or missing items). What should I do?
If you experience any issues with your order, the Sender must contact support to report them on your behalf.
What if my order never arrived?
If your order never arrived, please have the Sender of your order contact support.
What happens if the sender cancelled the gift?
If the Sender cancelled the gift order before you could schedule it, the gift link will stop working. You will see an error message if you try to open it.
If the Sender cancelled the order after you have scheduled it, then the order will be refunded back to them if the store has not started the order.
If I have issues with the items that were delivered to me or I never received my order, can I receive a refund for the order?
All refunds are issued to the sender to their original payment method.
