What is Pack & Deliver?
Pack & Deliver is a new feature that will allow you to shop for groceries using the Uber Eats app, and have a delivery person pick out the items you’ve selected, and pack & deliver for you. This is not available in all stores yet but we are working to roll this out across all of Australia.
How does it differ from regular grocery orders from other stores?
It works almost the same way as any other grocery orders. The difference is that for regular grocery orders, the store prepares the order for you and hands it over to the delivery person. For Pack and Deliver, the delivery person will pick out the items you selected at the store, pack and deliver for you.
What happens if the item I selected is out of stock?
You will get an in-app notification telling you that the item/s you selected are out of stock. You can call or message your delivery person in-app while they’re at the store so they can help you find an alternative item or remove the out of stock item from the list.
Can I change items in my order?
If you’d like to change your order before it is delivered, please reach out to your delivery person directly. Your delivery person will do their best to accommodate your request. However, if the delivery person has already paid for your order, your request may not be fulfilled.
Will I be charged for removing items?
After an order is submitted, you won’t be able to remove items from the order unless the item is out of stock at the store. If an out-of-stock item is removed from the order, you will NOT be charged for that item
How much will I pay for the Pack and Deliver order?
When you place your order, you’ll receive an estimated order cost based on in-app item prices. You’ll be charged the item prices you see in the app, regardless of any differences in in-store prices. This helps ensure clarity and consistency in pricing for your convenience.
However, the total cost may still vary based on item availability, item substitutions, or special instructions. The final cost of your order can be found in your updated receipt after the order is completed.
Is the Pack and Deliver delivery/service fee more expensive than regular grocery orders?
The delivery/service fee for Pack & Deliver may seem higher than our regular Uber Eats delivery option. This is because Pack & Deliver includes the added convenience of having your delivery person do the shopping for you, which takes more time and effort on their part.
Will I be charged if I cancel my order?
After you place an order, you can cancel anytime BEFORE the DP arrives at the store with no charge in line with the Pack and Deliver cancellation policy. To do so, tap ‘Cancel Order’ in the order tracking screen.
