To drive passengers with Uber, your vehicle must meet these minimum requirements:

• 4 doors and seat at least 4 riders
• Meet the vehicle age requirements for your city. Check our Vehicle Requirements page to see local model year cutoffs, as well as inspection forms and required documents
  • Make sure the page is showing information for your city by checking your location in the lower right corner of the screen
• Title must not be salvaged, reconstructed, or rebuilt
• Rental vehicles are only allowed in certain markets, and only if sourced from an authorized Uber rental partner. More information on rentals can be found here.
• No cosmetic damage, missing pieces, or commercial branding
• Heating and air conditioning must be in good working order

If you’re driving a vehicle you don’t own

You can drive a vehicle you do not personally own, but you must follow these steps:

1. You must have permission from the owner.
2. You must be listed as an insured driver on the vehicle’s insurance policy. Otherwise, your vehicle will not be approved on the Uber platform.
