Setting up a passkey
Make sure your device supports passkeys and has the latest Uber app installed.
- For Apple devices: Turn on your device’s password sharing setting.
- For Android devices: Sync with your Google account for seamless experience across devices. Learn how to manage passkeys in Chrome here.
While signed in on the Uber app
- Go to Account and then Manage Uber account
- Select Security and then Passkeys
- Choose Create a passkey
- Follow the steps to set up your passkey
While signed out of the Uber app
Make sure the password sharing is enabled on your device:
- Open the Uber app and select the passkey icon on the login page
- Sign in or sign up in the app
- Choose Create passkey
- Follow the on-screen instructions
Once set up, find the passkey in your device’s account security settings.
Using a passkey
To log in:
- Use the passkey icon in the login field, choose your passkey, and authenticate as prompted
- Or, to log in from another device, scan the displayed QR code with your device storing the passkey
Removing a passkey
From the Uber app
- Tap on Account and select Manage Uber account
- Choose Security and then Passkeys
- Beside the passkey, select the trash icon
- Hit Remove to unlink the passkey from your Uber account
Note: Removing it from the app doesn’t delete it from the device. For complete removal, follow your device’s settings.
