Updating account information

Changing your account details is easy

Follow these steps to update your phone number, email, password, or home address in the Driver app:

  1. Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner of the app
  2. Select Account from the menu
  3. Choose Edit account
  4. Tap the detail you need to update and enter the new information
  5. When you’re done, you’ll need to verify the change

Note: Drivers and delivery people can’t edit their date of birth in the app. To update your date of birth, re-upload your ID or driver’s license with the correct date of birth through the app.

Verification process

  • Phone Number: You’ll get a text message with a verification code. Type it into the app to confirm your new phone number.
  • Email (iOS only): We’ll send a verification code to your new email. Check both your inbox and spam or junk folders for our email. If you don’t see it, double-check the spelling of your new email address and request another code if necessary. If issues persist, tap ““I’m having trouble”” for help.
  • Password: The app will ask you to input your current password to make the change.

Important to know

  • When you change your email, we will also send a notification to your old email address to inform you about the change.
  • If you feel your account security has been compromised, visit Uber Help: I think my account has been hacked for immediate assistance.
