What fees may apply to my order?

When you place an order, the fees you may pay cover delivery and platform costs so your order arrives quickly and reliably.

Orders may include the following fees:

Standard Fees

Standard fees apply to delivery orders regardless of the merchant or items chosen. Fees do not constitute gratuities.

  • Delivery Fee: This fee goes to couriers for the services they provide to you. The fee varies based on factors such as the merchant, your location, demand, and availability of nearby couriers.

  • Service Fee: This fee varies based on factors like basket size and helps cover order-related costs. $0.10 goes directly to Uber for marketplace services (e.g. facilitating access to couriers and merchants), and the rest goes to your courier, who may pay a portion to Uber for services like lead generation, payment processing, and support.

  • Local Operating Fee: This fee offsets increased costs from regulations imposed on third-party food delivery platforms. Couriers also receive payment in accordance with local laws.

  • Other Fees: Other fees as required by law or as charged by the merchant may apply to your order, such as fees for single-use bags.

Add-on Fees

Add on fees may be based on the merchant you order from, your location, or the items you choose to order. Some or all of the following add-on fees may apply:

  • Long Range Fee: This fee helps provide access to additional merchants who are farther away from you.

  • Small Order Fee: This fee applies when an order subtotal is below a certain amount and varies by city. The small order fee can be removed by adding more items to your cart.

  • Delivery Adjustment Fee: This fee goes to couriers for the extra time and effort they incur when you make updates to your order after it is placed, such as changes to your delivery address.

  • Marketplace Fee: This fee applies to orders when delivery is handled by the merchant, either with their own staff or a third-party service, and helps operate the Uber platform. This fee is either a flat amount or a percentage of the order subtotal, and may be subject to a minimum and maximum cap.

Taxes: The tax amount displayed at checkout is an estimate. The final tax charged on your order receipt may be higher or lower than the estimated amount shown during checkout.
