Change payment method for this trip

You can change the payment method for trips within 30 days (60 days for valid business trips that fall under your company’s ride policy). However, this does not apply to business profile trips that do not fall under your company’s ride policy.

Additionally, the option to update the payment method for a family trip as the family organizer is currently unavailable. You’ll need to change the payment method selected for all trips in your Family profile, or adult family members in your Family profile can switch the payment method for the trip themselves.

To change your payment method after a trip:

  • Open the Uber app and go to Account
  • Select Help, then choose the trip you want to update
  • Select Help with a trip, then Other Payment support
  • Follow the prompts to change your payment method

To change your payment method during a trip:

  • In your app, select the white panel at the bottom of your screen
  • Select Switch next to the price and payment method
  • Select the correct payment method

You won’t be able to switch to or from Apple Pay, Google Pay, American Express reward points, or cash (if you’re in a city that accepts cash as a payment option).
