Account Security

Keeping your Uber for Business account secure is essential. Our security measures are designed not only to defend against a wide range of cyber threats but also to provide you with advanced, efficient tools. These options seamlessly integrate into your daily operations and help enhance the security of your dashboard.

Security features overview

  • Single sign-on (SSO): Streamlines access across multiple applications with a single login, enhancing security
  • Two-step verification: Adds an extra layer of security by requiring 2 forms of identification
  • Admin activity notifications: Alerts you to critical account activities
  • Domain restrictions: Allows control over which email domains can be used to access your account, preventing unauthorized entry

These security measures can help reduce the chance of unauthorized access and takeover of your Uber for Business account.

Detection of unauthorized activities

Administrators receive immediate email notifications upon any change to admins, domain setting updates, and program modifications, allowing for fast identification and response to security concerns.

  • Immediate alerts: As soon as a change to admins, domain setting updates, and program modifications occur, the involved administrators are alerted via email
  • Summary notifications: If multiple changes occur within a day, active administrators receive a summary email at the end of the day detailing changes made to the account

Admins will receive notifications for the following types of actions:

  • Changes to admin lists: Adding or removing administrators, role upgrades to admin status, or role downgrades to employee status
  • Domain settings updates: Turning off domain restrictions, adding new domains to the trusted list, or toggling auto-approval for domain changes
  • Program modifications: Deletions, edits, or additions of business programs

Security sign-on features

To protect against phishing and unauthorized access attempts, we recommend using either single sign-on (SSO) or multi-factor authentication (MFA). These technologies provide layers of security beyond traditional usernames and passwords, significantly enhancing account security.

  • Single sign-on (SSO): Allows users to access multiple applications with one set of credentials. SSO streamlines login processes and enables organizations to centrally control authentication for Uber for Business users, which helps align to their internal enterprise security policies. For setup details, refer to our single sign-on (SSO) help page.
  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA): Requires users to verify 2 forms of authentication before access is granted, reducing the risk of account takeover. Learn more about setting up MFA by visiting our multi-factor authentication (MFA) help page.
  • 2-step verification: Requires users to answer 2 security challenges upon signing in to their account. Learn more about setting up 2-step verification by visiting our 2-step verification help page.

Domain restriction

Admins have control over who can join the account, either manually or through auto-sync. They define trusted domains and set limits on users from these domains. Auto-sync will show users outside of trusted domains, requiring manual approval by the admin before they’re added to the organization.
