Disclosure Request under Article 5 of the Transaction DPF Consumer Protection Act

The “Transaction DPF (Digital Platform) Consumer Protection Act” is a law to protect consumers’ profits, and the Article 5 provides for a disclosure of information on dealers, etc., such as a name (store name) and telephone number, which can be requested under certain requirements. If you wish to request the disclosure of information under this law, please follow the procedures below.

Procedure Flow

Step 1

First, please attempt to contact the seller directly. You can find the address of the seller by following the instructions below.

How to Find Store Information

  1. Search for a seller page in the search box on the UberEats app or website.

  2. Tap the three dots in the upper right corner of the screen.

  3. Tap on “Store information”.

Step 2

#1: If you are still unable to contact the seller after trying the above, please follow the procedure below.

  • All of the requirements below must be met to proceed with the disclosure request. Please make sure that all requirements are met.
  • A person who has signed a sales contract, etc. with the seller, etc. on a transaction digital platform is a “consumer” (Article 2, Paragraph 3 of the Act).
  • The transaction party of the consumer is the “seller, etc.” (Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the Act).
  • To exercise a claim in an amount exceeding 10,000 JPY related to a contract with the seller, etc.
  • Verification of the seller Information is needed.
  • The seller’s information is not used for the purpose of damaging the seller’s credibility or for any other improper purpose.

#2: If you satisfy all of the above requirements and wish to request disclosure of seller’s information, please mail the following required materials to the address that we specify as the mailing address.

(Example)
・Order history when you purchased the seller’s products

・ If you have already attempted to contact the seller by email etc., please provide the printout of such contents.

・If you are claiming consequential damages or compensation for mental suffering from the seller, please provide the documents that can support the reasonableness of such claim.

  • E-mail address and phone number registered in the Uber account

#3: The information of the seller subject to this disclosure procedure is limited to the following items. Please specify which of the following information you wish to be disclosed in your disclosure request form.

  • Name or trade name of the seller (in the case of a corporation or other organization, its name and the name of its representative)
  • Address of the seller
  • Telephone number of the seller
  • Seller’s facsimile number
  • Seller’s email address (meaning an email address as defined in Article 2, item (iii) of the Act on the Proper Transmission of Specified Electronic Mail (Act No. 26 of 2002))
  • Corporate Registration Number (If the seller is a corporation or other organization)

Notes

  • We will not notify you of receipt of documents
  • We may not be able to fulfill your request for disclosure even if you follow the procedures above.
  • It may take several months to provide the information.
  • Any complaints or compensation for damages resulting from any false declarations will be the responsibility of the person making the declaration.
  • Please bear the costs related to the above disclosure requests.
