For your ease of reference, we have compiled a list of FAQs to get you through this update smoothly.

Please go through this list of FAQs if you have related questions or concerns.
Q. WHO DOES THIS CHANGE APPLY TO?
A. Uber Eats delivery partners and any Uber drivers who also deliver. For driver-partners, these changes will only apply to Uber Eats deliveries.
Q. WHAT IS TRIP SUPPLEMENT?
A. Trip supplement is a payment added to a trip based on certain factors such as when the restaurant is far away or the base fare seems a little low. When trip supplement is added, it is to help make every trip worthwhile.
Q. WHY ARE WE LOWERING BASE FARES?
A. Because we are adding an expanding payment called trip supplement which helps makes earnings for each trip more reflective of that trip, we have reduced base fares. Surge and Boost promotions will continue to work the same and may be available when it is busy.
Q. WHAT ARE MY NEW BASE FARE RATES?
A. Rather than publishing base fare rates to explain earnings, we will be showing an upfront guaranteed minimum amount that is inclusive of your total trip earnings before you accept it. We believe this is the easiest way to understand how much you will earn at the time of a request. To view exact base fare payments, refer to Trip Details once a delivery is completed.
Q. ON TRIP DETAILS, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BASE FARE BREAKDOWN?
A. To help simplify payment calculations, base fare rates are no longer itemized on Trip Details. We have combined time, distance, pickup, drop off rates together and the total is now shown on one line item on Trip Details.
Q. WHY DID THE TRIP REQUEST SCREEN CHANGE?
A. Based on feedback from delivery partners, we have added more upfront trip information so you can have a better picture of the delivery, including a guaranteed minimum amount, estimated total travel times, restaurant name, and pickup/dropoff location.
Q. WHAT IS A GUARANTEED MINIMUM AMOUNT AND HOW IS IT CALCULATED?
A. This is the amount you now see upfront on the trip request screen. It is the minimum amount you will earn for a completed delivery. This amount includes your base fare, promotions that are available, and a trip supplement (if eligible). Customer tips are not included in the upfront guaranteed minimum amount.
Q. DOES THE AMOUNT ON THE TRIP REQUEST SCREEN INCLUDE MY TIP?
A. No, tips are extra and not included in the amount you see on the request screen. As a reminder, it is good to check Trip Details one hour after dropoff to see how much you fully made for each delivery. Customers have that time to edit their tip based on your service.
Q. ARE THE NEW RATES IN GROSS OR NET?
A. The amount shown on the trip request screen represents the total net take-home earnings so you do not have to perform any calculations to understand how much you will earn.
Q. HOW CAN I MAKE SURE I GET PAID FOR THE AMOUNT ON THE REQUEST SCREEN?
A.Once you complete a delivery, you can review the amount on the Trip Details screen. You will see the upfront amount as the guarantee so you can easily match up the numbers.
Q. WILL I ALWAYS MAKE EXACTLY WHAT IS ON THE REQUEST SCREEN?
A. You will always earn at least what was shown to you on the trip request screen. In some cases where the trip took longer than expected, you may receive more than the upfront guaranteed minimum amount.
Q. WHAT IF I DECLINE A REQUEST?
A. We understand having control of your delivery experience is important, so we do not penalize for declining a request. However, we cannot guarantee another request will come in immediately.
Q. ARE THERE ANY CHANGES TO PROMOTIONS?
A. Promotions will continue to work the same and may be available when it is busy. As a reminder, Boost is a multiplier based on the base fare payment of the trip . The breakdown can be seen on Trip Details.
Q. WLL MY EARNINGS BE LOWER AS A RESULT OF THESE CHANGES?
A. As we implement these changes we expect earnings for each trip to fluctuate, however, with this change you will immediately have greater control by seeing the upfront guaranteed minimum amount and trip information to help ensure a trip is worth your time.
