How much will I have to pay for the Insurance?

You would have to pay an amount of INR 3 (inclusive of 18% GST) for each eligible ride in India. This would get added to the fare once you enroll. You can opt-out of this at anytime.

How can I Opt-in for Rider insurance?

You can Opt-in by clicking on this link. Alternatively, you can opt-in anytime on your Uber App by navigating to Account > Settings > Trip preferences > Rider Insurance. Your insurance coverage will be active from the next eligible ride you take on Uber.

How can I Opt-out from rider insurance?

You can opt-out by clicking on this link. Alternatively, you can opt-out anytime on your Uber App by navigating to Account > Settings > Trip preferences > Rider Insurance. You will not have insurance coverage from the next ride you take on Uber until you enroll again.

How can I make a claim in case of an unfortunate event?

Is Uber an insurance company?

No, Uber is not an authorised insurance company, insurance broker or other insurance intermediary. Rider insurance is provided by Reliance General Insurance Company. It is recommended that you source your own advice when purchasing any insurance.

What are eligible rides/trips?

All Uber rides except Uber Rentals, Uber Intercity, Uber for Business and Parcel trips are eligible for insurance.

I am already enrolled into Rider Insurance. If I opt-out while on an Uber ride, will my current trip fare include an Insurance Fee?

If you are enrolled in Rider insurance at the beginning of an eligible Uber ride and opt-out during the trip, your current trip will be insured and insurance fee will be added to your fare.

You will not be insured from your next eligible trip unless you enroll back into Rider Insurance.

I am not enrolled into Rider Insurance. If I opt-in while on an Uber ride, will my current trip fare include an Insurance Fee?
