What is a large order?
Orders that have large packages or require multiple bags are considered large orders. Large orders may require multiple delivery people to complete the delivery.
How does large order deliveries work?
For large order deliveries:
How do I pick up an order with multiple delivery people?
Orders with multiple delivery people work similarly to orders with one delivery person. The main difference is that you’ll only pick up a part of the large order.
What if there are no bags left to pick up from the merchant?
As we are testing out the automatic dispatching of couriers for large orders, sometimes, it can happen that too many couriers are dispatched. While we work hard to find a sustainable solution for delivery partners, in the meantime, we would ask you to complete the trip and go to the delivery destination so you can get paid for this. There is no need to contact Support to cancel the trip.
How are large orders split?
The merchant decides the best way to separate large orders. They can separate large orders by item type or packaging size.
How will I know if I’m delivering an order that needs multiple delivery people?
Your order pickup screen will show if there are other delivery people completing the order. You probably won’t need to contact Uber Support to request additional delivery people as they are assigned automatically for most merchants.
Why are multiple delivery people delivering one order?
If the order is too big for one person to deliver, other delivery people will be assigned to help with it.
For orders where multiple delivery people are needed, your base fare is still calculated as if the order had one delivery person.
If additional delivery people were not assigned to your order, you can ask the merchant to contact Uber Support to request them.
