Uber for teens allow teens between the age of 13 to 17 to take trips on Uber with parental consent. Once parents or legal guardians invite their teens to create an account, they will be able to request their own trips. You will see the request is an Uber for teens trip on the offer card before you confirm it.
Keeping safety in mind, we have inbuilt safety guardrails that allow parents or legal guardians to track their teens trip and access all of our on-trip safety features at all times.
Some of those features include, PIN verification, RideCheck, and direct connection to emergency services. Parents or legal guardians will also have access to live trip tracking and will receive notifications about their teens trips status. Parents or legal guardians may also have access to contact you whilst their teen is on a trip.
Uber for teens is only available in select cities.
Uber for teens trips are only available to a subset of drivers based on the eligibility criteria we have set internally.
You have the option to opt-in into receiving Uber for teens trips using the instructions below: * Navigate to the Privacy section, located under Account in your driver app. * Select “Service Eligibility” and use the toggle to let us know if you’d like us to assess your eligibility for Uber for teens
When you opt in, we will check whether you meet our eligibility criteria.
If you can no longer opt out by using the toggles, this can mean that we didn’t hear from you within 2 weeks of receiving the comms that asked you to confirm if you are happy to earn by accepting trips from teens.
If Uber for teens has launched in your city and you meet the eligibility criteria, you will see it as an option within the Driver Preferences section in your app. If you wish to not receive Uber for teens trips, you can toggle off that option in your Uber app anytime.
