How driver promotions work

Promotions generally require that you go online and complete trips. Additional requirements explained in the offer may apply. Your participation in any promotion is optional.

Here are some potential requirements:

  • Number of completed trips: Some promotions require a minimum number of completed trips. Each pickup and dropoff counts as one trip. For shared rides, each pickup counts as its own trip.
  • Online hours: Some promotions require a minimum number of online hours, or may be available only during specific times. We calculate your total number of hours to the minute. You are “online” any time you are available and receiving Uber trip requests, on the way to a pickup, or while on a trip.
  • Location: Location-based promotions apply in specific areas, determined by the rider’s request location, not your location when accepting the trip.
  • Acceptance rate: Some promotions require a minimum acceptance rate, calculated by the trips you accept out of the total trip requests sent to you via the app.
  • Completion rate: Minimum completion rates may be required for some promotions. Your completion rate is the number of trips you complete out of the total number of trip requests sent to you via the app.
  • Opt-in: Certain promotions require drivers to opt in. You may be asked to provide your email address or phone number to participate.
  • Trips per hour: Meeting a minimum number of completed trips per hour online (e.g., one trip per hour).
