Order Defect FAQs

What is a defect?

A defect is something that occurs during an order that impacts the quality of the consumer’s Uber Eats experience.

What causes a defect on an Uber Eats order?

There are 4 ways that a courier can cause a defect on an Uber Eats order:

  1. If the order is not delivered
  2. If the wrong order is delivered
  3. If the order is more than 10 minutes late (based on the expected delivery time shown when leaving the merchant)
    • If you are completing a batched order, a late delivery will NOT count as a defect.
  4. If the order is damaged
    • If the order is damaged by the merchant and that is reported in the app, a damaged order will NOT count as a defect.

What if I cancel the trip because the wait time at the merchant is too long?

Cancellations count as a defect.

What happens if I have multiple orders in a single offer?

If you are completing a batched order, each defect-free individual delivery made will count as a defect-free delivery.
