Uber Reserve - FAQ

What is Uber Reserve?

Uber Reserve is a Scheduled Rides option that allows Riders to request rides up to 30 days in advance.

To create an Uber Reserve request, please take the following steps:

  • Tap the “Reserve” banner on the app’s home screen
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to set up your request details
  • Once you confirm those details and set up your Uber Reserve request, you will be taken back to the “Reserve” tab. From there, you can see the details of your existing Reserve requests and schedule additional Uber Reserve rides.

What makes an Uber Reserve trip different to other trips?

An Uber Reserve trip is reserved and a driver assigned in advance of the trip time. Since the driver has been pre-assigned, compared with the general itinerary, riders can enjoy a more punctual trip.

What products is Reserve available on?

Reserve trips will have Economy ride and Premium ride.

All Uber products can support Economy trips, including UberX, Uber Comfort, Uber Car Seat, UberXL, Uber XXL, Uber Pet, Uber Green. Additionally, you can also choose Taxi Reserve trips.

  • Starting March 13, 2025, to enhance the quality of our service, Uber Car Seat will now be available exclusively through Uber Reserve. Please book your Uber Carseat trip at least 2 hours in advance.

To reserve a Premium ride, you can request Uber Black. (The premium ride is only available in Taipei and Taoyuan)

Please note that Premium or Economy reservations’ or products availability may vary, depending on where you’re requesting your ride.

How much does Uber Reserve cost?

The estimated price of all scheduled trip options will be displayed at the time of booking.

This estimation for an Uber Reserve request will be a combination of chosen product’s price-range and a booking fee.

  • Economy reservation: NT$50~NT$150
  • Premium reservation: NT$75~NT$225

Reservation fee for Taxi Reserve

In cases where you use Taxi Reserve, a separate reservation fee will apply. Below are the reservation fees for Taxi Reserve:

  • Taxi Reserve: NT$80~NT$150
    • During non-peak hours, the reservation fee is NT$100 in Hsinchu and NT$80 in non-Hsinchu cities. During peak hours, the reservation fee is NT$150.
    • Here are the peak hours:
      • Every Monday to Thursday: 6:00-9:59, 16:00-18:59
      • Every Friday: 6:00-9:59, 16:00-22:59
      • Every Saturday: 2:00-3:59, 9:00-13:59, 16:00-23:59
      • Every Sunday: 2:00-3:59, 11:00-13:59, 16:00-22:59

When can I view the full driver details and contact the driver?

Once you confirm the Uber reserve request, you can view the trip details for your existing Reserved requests in the “Activity” tab.

  • You may check the vehicle info once the driver accepts the trip and within an hour of the scheduled start time.
  • You may contact the driver by Uber app message once the driver accepts the trip and within an hour of the scheduled start time.

Can I edit the pickup time for a reserved trip?

After reserving a reservation trip, you can change your pickup time up to 1 hour before the reservation. To edit the pickup time for an Uber Reserve trip, please take the following steps:

  1. Open the Uber app and tap “Activity” from the bottom menu
  2. View past and reservation trips
  3. Select the reserve trip, tap the “Edit” button next to the pickup time, and you can edit your pickup time
  4. After editing, the screen will display “Reservation Updated,” and you can return to the activity page to confirm

If a driver has not yet been assigned, you can still change the pickup time between 1 hour and 30 minutes before the originally scheduled time. If it is within 30 minutes of the originally scheduled pickup time, changes to the pickup time will not be allowed.

Cancel an Uber Reserve trip

Can I cancel a Reserve trip?

Rider can cancel a Reserve trip an hour before the trip starts, and it will not be charged for any fare.

However, you will be responsible for the cancellation fee if the request is canceled within an hour of the scheduled start time. The cancellation fee will be NT$120 for Economy reservation, NT$150 for Premium reservation and Taxi Reservation.

To cancel an Uber Reserve request, please take the following steps:

  1. Tap “Activity.”
  2. View past and reservation trips.
  3. Click cancel in selected “Reserve trip.”

My Reserve trip is canceled by driver

If the assigned Driver cancels the Reservation less than 1 hour before the scheduled time or the Driver is not online in required time. The trip request will be re-matched with another available Driver.
