Courier - Delivery FAQ

What is Courier?

Courier is an additional earnings opportunity that allows Delivery Partners to receive package delivery requests via the Uber app.

Accepting a package request is similar to accepting an Uber Eats delivery request. You’ll receive a package delivery request in the Driver app, and you can choose to accept or decline it.

What can be delivered?

Packages that:

  • Don’t contain any prohibited or illegal item
  • Maximum weight: 8 kg
  • Maximum size: 45cm x 45cm x 30cm or less
  • Safely liftable and fit comfortably in/on your vehicle
  • Are closed, securely sealed, and ready to be delivered

How do I sign up?

Delivery Partners become eligible for package delivery after completing 100 trips and are automatically enrolled in this option. If you prefer not to participate, you can adjust your preferences anytime within the Driver app.

How to accept requests?

Accepting package delivery requests is similar to accepting Uber Eats delivery requests:

  1. Accept the Courier request in the Driver app.

  2. After you arrive at the sender’s pickup location, the sender will meet you at the curb or at the door. The sender may follow the delivery through their app and share trip details with the recipient.

  3. Arrive at the designated dropoff location, where the recipient will retrieve the package at the drop-off point, as specified in the app.

Can I cancel a delivery request?

Yes. You may decline a request to pick up/ deliver a package or cancel the delivery, as long as you don’t violate Uber’s Community Guidelines.

What if the sender isn’t at the drop off location?

If the sender isn’t at the pickup location within 10 minutes of your arrival, contact the sender through the app to try to coordinate the pickup.

If you cannot reach the sender, you may select Trip Support > Unable to find pickup to cancel the trip.

What if the recipient isn’t at the drop off location?

If the recipient isn’t at the dropoff location, please don’t end the trip right away. Try reaching out to the recipient or sender through the app to coordinate the handoff.

If you are unable to reach the recipient even 12 minutes after arriving at the dropoff location, you may return the package to sender by tapping “Unable to deliver”

What if the sender isn’t at the return location?

If you are unable to reach the sender after arriving at the return location, you may complete the return by leaving the package at the designated location (including in front of the door, in a delivery box, or near the mailbox).

To ensure the sender can locate the package, please send a photo via in app chat to the requestor within the app indicating where it was placed.

What are the prohibited items?

Items sent via Courier must comply with all laws and regulations and with Uber policies. Sending illegal, unsafe, or other prohibited items including but not limited to those listed on Prohibited or illegal items for 「Courier」 Deliveries is strictly prohibited.

What do I do if I believe the package has a prohibited or illegal item?

If you suspect the package contains a prohibited or illegal item please do not accept the package. To report the issue in the app, select Trip Support > Package may contain a prohibited or illegal item to cancel the trip.

Please refer to Prohibited or Illegal item Handling Process for more details.
