How to sign up?

Signing up to drive with Uber is easy.

1. Download the app (or sign up at partners.uber.com).
2. Provide us with your documents (for example, your driver’s licence).
3. In most cities, get a vehicle inspection.
4. Obtain a driver’s authority card if required in your state.

Document requirements vary between cities. After your documents have been reviewed and verified, you’ll receive confirmation that you can start using the Uber platform to earn money.

Do I need to own a car?

You do not need to own a vehicle to sign up. You can borrow a vehicle, or in most cities, rent one through the Uber Marketplace. You must also be listed as an insured driver on the vehicle’s insurance policy.
