Uber Pet (Pet-Friendly rides)

What are pet-friendly rides? Uber Pet allows riders to bring a pet on an Uber trip.

Note: Uber Pet is for non-assistance dogs. In accordance with the Uber Assistance Dogs Policy, assistance dogs are permitted to accompany riders at all times without extra charge, regardless of whether it is an Uber Pet trip.

How do pet-friendly trips work? Uber Pet trips work similarly to UberX trips. The main difference is the presence of an animal. In London, you’ll earn an extra £2.25** for completing an Uber Pet trip. In other UK cities, you’ll earn an extra £1.50 for completing an Uber Pet trip.

How many pets can a rider bring? A rider is allowed to bring one pet. You can choose to allow additional pets at your discretion.

What kind of pets are riders allowed to bring? Uber Pet is suitable for dogs and cats. Please be advised that if riders are travelling with another exotic or less common pet, you will have the right of refusal. In this case, we recommend that riders call or message you via the app to confirm that you are comfortable with carrying the specific animal in your vehicle.

What if I’m allergic to a pet? If you’re allergic to certain animals, it’s best to opt-out of Uber Pet trips. However, please remember, you are still legally required to allow assistance dogs into your vehicle, unless you have a valid medical exemption issued by your local authority.

How do I opt-out of Uber Pet trips? You can opt-out of Uber Pet trips by following the steps below: Tap the Driving Preferences icon in the bottom left corner. Tap Uber Pet so it’s selected as on or off.
