The Uber Military surcharge is a fee added to trips that start and end on military bases. This surcharge helps improve reliability by supporting a small group of eligible drivers who have access to these locations. Drivers receive 100% of this surcharge to help increase driver availability and meet rider requests on military bases.
Any applicable surcharge will be automatically included in the upfront price or estimated price range before you request a ride. You will see the surcharge itemized on your trip receipt under Tolls, Surcharges, and Fees.
The full amount of the Uber Military surcharge is paid directly to the driver who completes your trip on a military base.
You can see a breakdown of your trip charges, including any surcharges, on your trip receipt in the app. For more information about how pricing works, see How are Fares Calculated page.
This surcharge helps ensure there are enough drivers available to serve riders on military bases by helping to cover the extra requirements for base access. It helps keep wait times low and improves reliability for riders at these locations.
