Effective January 13, 2024, consumers may notice changes due to Seattle’s delivery app ordinance. These changes will include increased fees and the introduction of a “Local Operating Fee”.
Additionally, tipping is now available only after the order is delivered, via “Account-Orders”. For more information, please visit this Help page.
When provided to us, we will display accessibility instructions to your delivery person before they accept the delivery. Consumers can already include these instructions in the Uber Eats/Postmates app, either on the “Checkout” page under “Add delivery instructions & photos” or the “Account” page (click on profile pic) under “Saved Places (Address Info, Drop-off options)”.
Accessibility instructions might include, for example, “This is a walk-up apartment with four flights of stairs”. For more information on where you can meet your delivery person, please visit this Help page.
Consumer receipts will show the amount retained by Uber from consumer fees for each order. As a part of our business, Uber may also collect revenue from various other sources (e.g., marketing revenue).
Currently, under “Service Fee & Other Fees” we specify that $0.10 of these fees are paid directly by consumers to Uber for marketplace services such as facilitating access to delivery people and merchants. Consumers will also see the amount we retained for connecting delivery people to consumers and payment processing under “Other amount retained by Uber”.
