<New Partners>
- Please confirm that your residence status is: Permanent Resident, Spouse (of a Japanese National or Permanent Resident), Long-Term Resident, or Designated Activities (Working Holiday) with no activity restrictions, including a 28-hour time limit. Please note that refugee applicants are not eligible to work for Uber because they are only permitted to work as employees.
The types of residence status eligible for delivery partner registration will no longer include "Student," "Cultural Activities," and "Designated Activities" and "Dependent," which have various restrictions (including a 28-hour working limit) (effective August 25, 2021, and for dependents, effective December 11, 2023).
To complete your registration, you must have your residence card and passport physically verified at one of our domestic compliance centers. For details, please check the email sent at the end of the registration process.
<Existing Partners>
- Uber Eats delivery partners who were registered before August 24, 2021, with a visa for Student, Cultural Activities, or Designated Activities with a 28-hour work limit must have their residence card with their respective residence status verified at one of Japan's compliance centers every six months in order to continue working as delivery partners.
- In addition, if you registered with a "Student" visa, we will also verify your enrollment at your current institution every six months.
- Uber Eats delivery partners who were registered before December 10, 2023, with a visa for Dependent Stay must have their residence card with their respective residence status verified at one of Japan's compliance centers every six months in order to continue working as delivery partners.
[Regarding document updates and changes to vehicle type]
Delivery partners who were registered before August 24, 2021 with the visa status of "Student," "Cultural Activities," or "Designated Activities with various restrictions (including a 28-hour working hour limit)" can update their documents or change their vehicle type until December 31, 2021. Please note that from January 1, 2022, we will no longer be able to accept document updates or changes to vehicle type unless their visa status is changed to one that is eligible for registration under this revision.
