Using Uber promotions and Uber Credits

Uber Promotions

Uber promotions give discounts on trips with Uber. Promotions differ from vouchers and gift cards. Vouchers are provided by businesses and gift cards are applied to your Uber Cash balance (where available).

If you’re eligible for a promotion, you’ll receive a promotion code through email or an Uber app notification.

To view or add promotion codes to your account:

1. In the app, select “Account” and then “Wallet.” If you have an older version of the app, you may see “Payment” instead of “Wallet.”
2. Scroll down to “Promotions.” Each promotion code will specify its expiration date and applicable areas, such as a specific country or city.
3. Tap “Add promo code” to add a new one.
4. Enter the code and tap “Add.”

If you have multiple promotion codes available on your account, you can’t apply a specific promotion to your ride. The maximum discount available will automatically apply.

Uber Cash

To add a set amount of Uber Cash to your account:

1. In the Uber app, tap “Account.”
2. Select “Wallet.” If you have an older version of the app, you may see “Payment” instead of “Wallet.”
3. On the “Uber Cash” card, tap “Add funds.”
4. Select the amount you want added to your account.
5. Tap “Add.”

To set up automatic Uber Cash refills:

1. In the Uber app, tap “Account.”
2. Select “Wallet.” If you have an older version of the app, you may see “Payment” instead of “Wallet.”
3. On the “Uber Cash” card, tap “Add funds.”
4. Select the amount you want automatically added when your balance gets low and then select the “Auto-reload” toggle.
5. Tap “Save & add.”

To pay for a trip using Uber Cash:

1. In the Uber app, enter your destination in the “Where to?” field.
2. Tap your payment method.
3. Select the Uber Cash toggle.
4. Request a ride.

Uber Cash is not available in all locations.
