Follow these guidelines to keep your personal information and earnings safe-
Hackers often use phishing to access accounts. Phishing tricks you into sharing your email, phone number, or password, putting you at risk of identity theft and financial loss.
How phishing might happen: * An unexpected call or text falsely claiming to be Uber Support and asking for your account info. * A message offering Uber credits in return for personal details. * A suspicious email or text with links to fake Uber login pages. * Websites claiming to sell discounted products but asking for your Uber login credentials. * Requests to add a gas gift card to your account to transfer your earnings elsewhere.
Be aware of these tricks: * Anyone pretending to be Uber Support asking for your password or account details. * Promises of Uber credits in exchange for your information. * Links in texts or emails leading to non-Uber login pages. * Fake Uber sites or offers for discounted products that require your Uber credentials. * Attempts to involve your account in adding gift cards or cashing out to questionable cards.
To keep your account safe: * Don’t share passwords, login codes, or your Social Security number via email, texts, or calls. Uber will never ask for these details in this way. * Always check for “uber.com” in the URL before entering your Uber password on websites. * Never allow passengers to handle or use your device during a trip.
