Background check info

What is it for?

Driver-partners need to pass a criminal background check as this is one of the document requirements to drive with Uber.

How does it work?

1. Lodge a background check request using the link below.

2. NCC (National Crime Check) will process the request within 14 days.

3. Once processed, the result will be sent to you via email and a copy will be sent to us.

4. We will upload it to your account and review the result. You may check your account status by visiting partners.uber.com.

5. Please note: To prevent any issues, we recommend keeping your current email address on the Driver app until your background check is complete. This may affect processing timelines.

6. For driver-partners driving in NSW:

   • To maintain safety standards on the Driver app and comply with New South Wales Point to Point regulations, we require all driver-partners to have a recent background check.
   • If your background check becomes outdated before you commence providing passenger services, you may be required to provide a new, recent one to ensure you are cleared to drive. You can request one here.
