Validating your ABN details

It’s a requirement that all driver-partners and delivery people register for an ABN (Australian Business Number).

What type of ABN do I need?

If you do not have an existing ABN, Uber recommends registering yourself for an ABN as a ‘Sole Trader’ or ‘Individual’. Once you update the tax details on your Uber account with your Individual ABN, no additional steps are required.

If you have an existing ABN registered as a company, partnership or trust and intend to use your existing business to provide services on the Uber platform, you may use that. You will also need to provide a valid supporting document that confirms your association with the ABN.

Please note that your ABN will need to be valid and active.

How to upload your supporting document

  1. If you see the Log in to get Help button, sign in with your driver details and then continue to step 2; otherwise, if you see Submit, you can move directly to step 2.
  2. Scroll to the end of this page and upload a photo of any of the following:
  • Certificate Registration of a Company from ASIC
  • Letter of Registration from Australian Business Register OR Australian Taxation Office
  • Letter of company statement, company details or company extract

Once submitted, the document may take up to 48 hours to be approved. Once approved, you’ll be able to start or continue going online if there are no other issues with your account.
