If you did sign up to drive with Uber before April 1, but did not submit a TLC license application before April 1, your account has been placed on a waiting list. Applications that have been denied by the TLC will not be considered.
There are still plenty of ways to earn with Uber. In the meantime, please consider delivering with Uber Eats or driving with Uber outside of the five boroughs.
The TLC requires all license applicants to complete a defensive driving course at a TLC-approved driving school. The course typically costs around $40 and runs for about six hours.
If you have taken defensive driving at a New York State course provider within the last three years, and have your proof of completion certificate, you do not need to take defensive driving again.
Once you’ve completed defensive driving, upload a copy of your defensive driving completion certificate using the TLC Upload Portal using the link below.
