Sometimes, when on a cash trip, the rider may not have the full amount or you may not have enough change.
Below are some tips in case either of these situations occurs:
Reporting the correct amount
- Enter the exact amount you received.
- Inaccurate reporting may result in account restrictions.
Check the amount received
- After the trip ends, the Uber app will show a confirmation screen with the total fare.
- If the rider paid a different amount, select “Other amount” and enter the amount actually given to you, even if it is zero.
- The rider will receive a prompt in their Uber app to confirm the amount entered.
- If the rider cannot confirm (for example, if their phone is out of battery), choose “The rider cannot respond” and select the reason.
- If the “Other amount” option is missing, visit our Help Center article: I didn’t get the full amount of money for assistance.
If you don’t have change
Offer the rider the option to receive their change as Uber Cash in the app.
- Tap “COLLECT CASH” to view the amount due.
- Before completing the trip, select “SEE MORE”, then “OTHER”, and enter the amount you received.

This process adds Uber Cash to the rider’s account without affecting your earnings.

PIX QR Code payment option
Cash trips can now be paid using the Pix QR Code.
At the end of cash trips, you can select the “Pix QR Code” option. This option will generate the code for the user to scan using a bank app of their choice.
When a payment is made using the Pix QR code, it goes on your earnings statement to be paid in the next weekly payment.
If the rider has a promotion
- Riders pay the amount shown in their promotion.
- Your earnings will not be impacted, as Uber covers the promotion amount.
- You’ll get the full amount displayed when you accepted the trip.
Feature availability
- Cash Payment Confirmation is currently in testing and may not be available to all driver partners or on all trips.
- This feature may not appear on trips between 10pm and 6am.
