What is Monthly Billing?
By default, when you add a payment method to Uber for Business account, for services like Central, employee travel, or meal programs, your account is set to Pay Per Trip, meaning your saved payment method is charged after each trip or meal order.
With Monthly Billing, instead of several individual trip charges, you’ll receive one single cumulative charge each month. Built for easy reconciliation, your finance team gets a monthly statement, while admins and travelers still receive individual, granular receipts and trip invoices. Nothing changes for your riders, only how you are billed.
What are the Admin Benefits?
- One Statement, One Charge: Eliminate administrative noise with a single consolidated statement at the end of the month.
- Enterprise-Grade Reconciliation: Maintain the perfect balance of “big picture” oversight and “trip-level” detail by retaining individual receipts while paying one monthly bill.
- Significant Admin Savings: Transitioning to a single monthly statement can reduce the time spent on manual reconciliation by up to 75%, giving your team their time back.
How to know if you’re eligible?
If your organization is eligible for Monthly Billing:
- You’ll receive an email notification. We now notify your financial reviewers list as well, not just admins.
- A banner/notification will appear on the “Billings” tab or Homepage at business.uber.com, prompting you to apply.
How to Apply for Monthly Billing?
- Sign in to business.uber.com.
- Go to the Billings tab (or click the nudge in your Activity page or Settings).
- If you are eligible, you will see “Enable monthly billing” on the banner.
- In the pop-up window, review how Monthly Billing works.
- Click “Set up Monthly Billing” or “Switch to monthly billing”.
- Enter your company details in the Tax Profile Screen. Your tax information will now be securely stored for future use. If your profile is already updated, a pre-filled form will be shown.
- Review and agree to the terms and conditions.
- Review your credit limit. Depending on your account, you will experience one of two flows:
- Automated Flow: You will be offered an auto-approved credit line (up to $2,500 based on average spend). You can choose the amount up to your maximum limit.
- Manual Flow: Your credit line will be manually determined by our team (account specific flow).
Lastly, click “Submit”.
What happens once you enroll and when will you hear back?
- For Automated Flows: You are enrolled immediately! Your dashboard will automatically update to confirm your setup. All U4B dashboard admins will also receive a confirmation email.
- For Manual Flows: Once submitted, our team will promptly evaluate your request. Rest assured, we process these as quickly as possible and will follow up via email with your approved credit line so your team can start enjoying simplified billing.
- Note on Billing Dates: Your next bill will be generated on the 1st of the next month, and your default payment method will be charged on the 7th. You also have the option to make a manual payment anytime before the charge date, especially if you’re nearing your credit limit.
(Note: Your organization’s home currency will apply to all transactions and cannot be changed after onboarding.)
How are credit limits assigned?
When you apply for Monthly Billing, Uber for Business evaluates your organization to determine a suitable credit limit. This helps ensure that your account has enough spending capacity to support your business needs throughout the month while maintaining responsible usage. Auto-approved limits generally default up to $2,500, or a maximum of 1.5x of average spend.
What If you’re not eligible yet?
If you don’t see the option to apply, your account will remain on Pay Per Trip billing. To improve your chances of becoming eligible in the future, we recommend:
- Increasing usage on your account.
- Maintaining a strong payment history.
- Avoiding any chargeback or fraudulent activity.
Payment method notes
The default payment method for Monthly Billing is a credit card
If you’d prefer to pay by bank transfer, the payment method is currently only supported for orgs with a dedicated account manager.
*Note: Universal Air Travel Plan (UATP) cards are not eligible for Monthly Billing. For Uber Health, enrollment in Monthly Billing is required during account setup.*
