My background check failed

As part of our commitment to help keep all users safe, we run background checks on all drivers and delivery people, and can’t allow anyone with failed background checks on the platform.

The third-party vendors who run background checks don’t determine the standards used to evaluate eligibility to partner with Uber and aren’t involved in the driver or delivery person partnership decision. Once the vendor has obtained all relevant information for your background check, Uber makes a decision based on the report (or amended report) the vendor provides.

Disputing background check information

If you received a background check report that you believe contains inaccurate or incomplete information, you can dispute the background check with the vendor who performed it.

If there has been an update that should be considered, you can contact the vendor with additional information. They’ll send a revised report to Uber to be re-assessed.
