How do airport fees/charges work?

ACCESS FEE

Riders are charged an Airport Access Fee for being picked up at the Airport.

This fee is $2.85. The fee is collected by Uber on your behalf and then reimbursed to you. It will show as both an addition and a deduction on your trip breakdown.

WAITING AREA FEE

Canberra Airport charges certain fees in the Express Pickup Area.

To ensure you are not charged for using the Express Pickup Area at the airport, Uber has organised access cards that will allow you to enter the area for up to 15 minutes for free.

It’s important to note you are required to hold one of these cards if you intend to do airport pickups as a driver-partner with Uber. You will need to pay a $22 deposit fee to obtain an access card.
