What is Uber Money?

In a nutshell, Uber Money is a form of electronic money.

It is a stored value balance of funds (aka Wallet) for Riders or Eaters to use upon paying for trips or Eats orders (in some markets). In the UK, you will receive Uber Money when redeeming Gift Cards.

To use Uber Money to pay for your orders, you’ll need to choose Uber Money as your payment method after entering your destination, which will require an Uber Money account.

To redeem a Gift Card:

• Make sure you have the latest version of the Uber app.
• Select the Menu icon
• Choose “Wallet/Payment”.
• Tap “Add payment method”.
• Select “Gift Card”.
• Enter your PIN/Gift Code

You’ll be prompted to add an additional payment method or add more funds to your Uber Money Account before you order or request an order if your Uber Money balance is less than the cost of your trip or order.

If the cost of your order is more than your Uber Money balance, you will need to use another payment method in combination with it to pay for your order. An authorization hold may be made on that payment method.
