Seattle’s PSST ordinance allows both drivers and delivery couriers to accrue paid time off for health and safety reasons.
You accrue one day of PSST for every 30 days in which you complete at least one trip or delivery with a stop in Seattle. This is different from the state’s hourly accrual method. You can carry over up to 9 days of unused PSST to the next year.
To use your accrued PSST, you must have completed at least one trip in Seattle in the 90 days before your request.
Payment is calculated based on your average daily earnings over the prior 12 months (excluding tips) and is processed within 14 days of your request.
To claim your PSST in the app: 1. Open the Driver App and tap the menu icon in the top left corner. 2. Select Earnings from the menu. 3. Tap on the WA Benefits hub. 4. Select Paid Sick and Safe Time (Seattle). 5. Tap Claim time and follow the on-screen instructions.
