New York State Driver Benefits - Overview and FAQ

The agreement with the New York Attorney General provides several protections and resources for drivers across the state.

Deactivation Appeals

You have the ability to appeal decisions to deactivate your account. Appeals can be filed through the in-app Driver Review Center. Deactivations eligible for appeal include those related to:

• Dangerous driving or suspected impaired driving
• Low ratings
• Interpersonal conflict or harassment
• Wrong vehicle or service animal denial
• Suspected trip fraud

Paid Training

You are eligible to be paid for up to 1 hour of your time spent completing specific driver training and education courses within the app. This is a one-time lifetime payment cap.

Unemployment Insurance

We contribute to New York State’s unemployment insurance fund on behalf of drivers. This means if you stop driving, you may be eligible for unemployment benefits. Eligibility and benefit amounts are determined solely by the New York State Department of Labor.
