What about my menu markup? Can I add a menu markup to my inventory? I used to have a menu markup on my inventory to make up for the higher Uber fee and stay profitable, can I add a menu markup to my inventory?

It depends on whether your state allows markup:

State Allows Markup: Your store remains in complete control of your inventory pricing strategy. With this new POS system integration, your item prices on Uber Eats and Postmates will be pulled directly from your POS system. As a result, you will no longer be able to adjust your item specific prices on Uber Eats or Postmates during the item uploading process, but you can continue to adjust your item prices on Uber Eats and Postmates by adjusting the prices directly in your POS system. Uber recommends keeping your online prices consistent with your in-store prices to help you remain competitive to shoppers browsing your items. However, if increasing your online prices make sense for your business and you previously had a menu markup on Uber Eats and Postmates, you can add a standard percentage markup (ie. 3%, 5%, etc) on your entire inventory.

If you’d like to move forward with a menu markup, please confirm the percentage increase or decrease, and we will assist in updating within the week.

State Doesn’t Allow Markup: According to our understanding of applicable rules in your state, we are required to display your prices as listed in your POS for in-store. With this new POS system integration, your item prices on Uber Eats and Postmates will be pulled directly from your POS system. As a result, you will no longer be able to adjust your item specific prices on Uber Eats and Postmates during the item uploading process. You can continue to adjust your item prices on Uber Eats and Postmates by adjusting the prices directly in your POS system.
